Most movement programs revolve around organizing single, unrelated events like demonstrations or letter-writing campaigns. A campaign provides an escalating series of actions over a period of time focused on a target in order to achieve specific goals. When these activities are strung together in an integrated fashion, building on one another, the impact and potential for success is magnified dramatically.
In this half-day training you will learn campaign organizing skills from trainers with deep experience in undocumented and Appalachian coal communities. Their campaign organizing experience ranges from organizing against deportations, prisons, and pipelines to countering the rise of the alt-right and building a post-coal future that works for everyone.
